lackadaisycats:

I posted a couple of new comic pages on the web site this weekend.

Lackadaisy Crossroads
Lackadaisy Voodooienne

It’s not much, and I’m sorry about that.  To those who’ve been asking if the comic is dead - no, surely not.  Life has been mostly work and sleep for the past while, though, with depressingly little space for comics.

This comic is absolutely beautiful and so wonderful. The incorporation of voodoo lore is great too.

How They Make You A Weapon - Shave & a Haircut

My comic version of a scene from monicawoe's brilliant Winter Soldier story. The top half of page #1 is a VERY condensed recap of Chapters 1 and 2 of her story. The rest of the comic is the first part of Chapter 3. Sorry for not splitting that last page in two for easier reading. I forgot about Tumblr's  '10 photo' limit. *facepalm*

Here’s what it says:
The light turns red. An alarm sounds…and the vent spews more gas into the room.

How They Make You A Weapon can be read HERE. *whispers* [Go read it. Seriously, it’s amazing. It inspired me to get off my lazy ass and draw a comic, for Buck’s sake! I haven’t drawn a comic in 5 million years!!!]

As for my artistic choices, the rendering style and colour scheme are based on my previous drawings inspired by HTMYAW, since folks seemed to like them a bunch. Hopefully, you like this one too. :D

My previous arts can be found at my HTMYAW tag and at HowTheyMakeYouAWeapon.tumblr.com .

Update for Tuesday, January 31, 2011: Pages 260, 261, and part of 262 Added the first two panels of p. 262 to bring Amal’s monologue to a close.
This is one of those instances where long-form storytelling is kind of at a disadvantage in weekly webcomic format - this bit reads fine on paper, but stretched out over 3 weeks of updates it sort of fizzles. Oh well, good thing it’s meant for print anyway :U

I fell in love with this comic the first time I ever laid eyes on it, but I gotta admit, TJ has always been my more favorite of the two. Until today, and I just… fell all in love with Amal. Head over heels. Awesome love.
Damn this comic, these characters have me HOOKED.
